Fire

Meet the Muenster Volunteer Fire Department. Proudly serving since 1932 with 39 dedicated volunteers, a community-funded station, and a commitment to “Second to None” emergency response.

Protecting Our Community Since 1932

The Muenster Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) is more than just an emergency response team; it is a testament to the spirit of our city. For over 90 years, our department has been staffed entirely by neighbors helping neighbors.

Today, under the leadership of Chief Mitch Creed and Assistant Chief Deano Bayer, we maintain a roster of 39 dedicated volunteers who are on call 24/7 to protect life and property in Muenster and the surrounding Cooke County area. Our motto is simple: provide “Second to None” care.

Community Funded, Community Built

Built by Generosity, Not Taxes In 2018, the MVFD opened the doors to a modern, state-of-the-art fire station. In most cities, a project of this magnitude requires a bond election or a tax hike. In Muenster, we did it differently. Through aggressive fundraising and the overwhelming generosity of our residents, the station was built with zero tax increase to the citizens.

The 2018 New Station

A modern facility designed to house our expanding fleet and provide advanced training space for our volunteers, fully funded by donations.

August BBQ & Auction

Our annual fall gathering provides the critical operating funds for gear, truck maintenance, and fuel, ensuring we are always ready to roll.
