The City of Muenster Parks & Recreation Department takes pride in caring for the parks and places that bring our community together. From our City Park and municipal swimming pool to the Muenster Lake Recreation Area, we work year-round to create safe, beautiful, and inviting spaces where residents and visitors alike can relax, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
Muenster City Park: The Heart of the Community
Located just south of the Highway 82 / FM 373 intersection, the Muenster City Park is the hub of local activity. Open daily from 7:00 AM to Midnight, the park offers something for every age group.
Sports Courts
Basketball court, volleyball court, and tennis courts.
Walking Paths
Paved trails perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls.
Pavilion & Stage
A covered pavilion and stage area for public use and private rentals.
Playgrounds
Modern playsets and swing sets for children.
Muenster Swimming Pool
Beat the Texas heat at the Muenster City Swimming Pool, located within City Park. The pool operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through mid-August.
- Public Swim Hours: Tuesday – Sunday | 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Admission: $5.00 per person
- Pool Parties: The facility is available for private rentals
- Red Cross swim lessons available
- Note: Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
More Ways to Play
Jaycee Ballpark
Located at 750 N Mesquite St, this facility hosts local youth baseball and softball leagues. Maintained in partnership with the Muenster Jaycees, it features lighted fields and concessions during game seasons.
Muenster Lake
Just 3 miles west of town, our 309-acre lake offers boat ramps, fishing piers, and quiet waters for kayaking. See the “Lake & Tourism” page for full details.
Heritage Park
While operated by a non-profit board, Heritage Park (301 N Ash St) is the city’s premier venue for large festivals like Germanfest, featuring a massive event center and RV hookups.
Hiking Trails
Muenster’s trails offer easy, scenic paths for walking and hiking, featuring gentle terrain, family-friendly routes, and inviting outdoor spaces to relax, explore, and enjoy nature.
